The Brain

T0
The Brain is a comedy play which plunges us, skulls cracking, into that uncharted Grey Matter we call The Brain. Somewhere deep within its membraneous tendrils, under an overhanging cortex flap close to the primordial soup of the cerebellum, a group of disgruntled Neurones and dysfunctional Numskulls vie with one another to uncover the curious source of the Imagination. The Brain, a mingle-manglement of science fact and monstrous fiction, is the outcome of a Science on Stage and Screen Award from the Wellcome Trust. With the help of neuroscientist Dr Emil Toescu and that renowned Forkbeardean mix of film, live action and remarkable stagecraft, they endeavour to cast light onto the scrambled egg that makes us tick.
