Three New Short Plays. Resham (Silk) by Yasmin Khan. Based in Bedford, Yasmin has produced documentary work for Anglia TV and has recently been writing and performing comedy and sketches. Her play is a telling insight into the world of honour killings. Wish by Ravi Mangat. Co-writer of the hit comedy Arrange That Marriage, Ravi has turned his attentions to the father-son relationship. Jeevan Sathi examines the pressures on a gay relationship in a contemporary British Asian setting written by scientist and comedian Ashok Patel (also a co-writer of Arrange That Marriage. Each play uses the setting of the 'Corner Shop' as it's starting point. The refuge of dispossessed immigrants and the spring-board into the mainstream for the second generation.
