The Disappearances Project
T972287513
When a person disappears, the immediate effects are devastating. When they remain missing years later, how do those left behind cope with living in the limbo of not-knowing and come to terms with the agony of loss? Tracing the trajectories of hope, anger and grief over years of police investigations into a range of unexplained disappearances, the Australian ensemble Version 1.0 explores the effects of long-term missing persons cases on individual families and communities. This intimate, beautiful and haunting performance uses collected testimony and specially commissioned film sequences to chart the search for lost loved-ones, the process of piecing together shattered lives and the toll of endless, fruitless searching.
