1950s Britain - a time long before Sunmed, when a trip to Calais was an exotic adventure and Benidorm might as well have been the moon. Every year millions headed off to holiday camps - wooden hutted Utopias where knobbly knees were guaranteed a prize, bathing beauties wore knitted swimsuits and it really mattered if you won the Donkey Derby. Erpingham runs his camp with military precision, his ruthless ambition made manifest by a beflagged map plotting the expansion of his empire. But when the Tarzan competition goes wrong and anarchy reigns amongst the campers, Erpingham's power is tested to the limit with tragic results!
