The Land of Cakes

T67511959
Your continuity man, the link person, that inner....Jimmy Spankie of the soul - what happens if you wake up one morning and he's NOTHERE? You know, the voice that says....Ah'm still hungry....there's that peh in the fridge....I'll get a cab hame, must mind and feed the dog....is it rubbish day the morn?.... well, what happens if it dries up? For Davie, Doag, Chris and Michelle and several of the other inhabitants on the ward at a large hospital, set in a city (with a boat), on the East Coast of Scotland, this is just what has happened. Nationally acclaimed Dundee poet and essayist Don Paterson tackles the question of losing your narrator, in this hilarious, brilliant and eventually shocking journey into the heart of darkness. Six different characters confront their past and future in a dance that encompasses both the personal and the universal - underscored by the haunting and atmospheric music of Gordon McPherson.
