The Retreating World is a monologue on the horrors of war featuring a highly cultivated Iraqi shock trooper from the 1991 Gulf War waxing lyrical about his love of pigeons and the poetry of Hart Crane. He seems like a nice chap despite being from an 'enemy' nation - the only question is whether he is alive or a ghost.
