The Sorrows of Sandra Saint tells of the loving but fraught family relationship between Jimmy's friend Scout, his 14-year old sister Sandra and their mother, who are all suffering the after-effects of losing the husband/father in a car accident. Each family member deals with the bereavement in different ways, but when Sandra reveals she is pregnant the uneasy peace in the home threatens to erupt.
