The Zero's Keep Going
T212345682
A challenging yet moving work, 'The Zeros...' examines feminism and pornography and questions the effects that our highly sexualized media and culture have upon our lives and psyches. With a narrative that ranges from the experience of those making pornography to its consumption by suburban males and the response of their partners, this is a story of love and loss which takes place in a dull city at the end of a decade, where nothing very much happened at all - except some wars and a massive increase in the volume of free hardcore porn.
The Zeros Keep Going was inspired by Flatrate's discovery that 'snuff' films, which represent the murder of a woman for sexual gratification, had been distributed in this country in the early 80s, with no more illegality than the regular porn on sex shop shelves up and down the country.
