Tongues of Fire is based on the people involved in the life of Christ in the months leading up to his crucifixion. The events are familiar to all but the play is not a religious one. It is concerned not so much with Christ but with the effect He had on the lives of both the politicians and the ordinary people he lived amongst. The play captures, with a beautiful simplicity, the awesome phenomenon that these people encountered and how He changed their lives (and ours) forever.
