Twist

T633965190
In a radical adaptation of Dickens' classic novel, Chino Odimba and Theatre Centre transform Oliver's struggle for sanctuary into a modern tale framed by the global phenomenon fast defining the 21st century. His home is dust. His friends are few. His hands are as rough as the seas he has crossed. Humanising the anonymous plight of our generation, we follow one refugee's desperate journey, buffeted between borders and bad company. Teeming with Dickens' audacious characters and invigorated by the writing of award-winning Chino Odimba, this retelling marks a bold collaboration for Theatre Centre, pioneers of new writing for young audiences. Rising-star Odimba has written for Clean Break and National Theatre and was shortlisted for the Bruntwood Prize. In a world where home is but a fragile thing and good fortune just a turn of fate, Twist is about having the temerity to ask for more.
