A new play telling the story of Edward Rushton. Edward Rushton (b.13 November 1756 - d. 22 November 1814) was Liverpool's most implacable anti-slavery abolitionist, human rights activist and pioneer for disability rights. This remarkable man was blinded as a teenager and was an early human rights activist. He lived and worked in Liverpool, leaving a powerful legacy of radical thought and action, including the establishment of what is now The Royal School for the Blind.
