Details
Lemn Sissay's work has appeared on TV, in books and on the pavements and buildings of Manchester. He has travelled all over the world to read his poetry and has toured virtually every city in the UK. Join us for an afternoon with Lemn Sissay, one of Britain's most popular and celebrated poets. Experience his seminal body of work with a selection of readings by Lemn himself as well as stories about his life and work. Lemn Sissay was seventeen when he wrote his first poetry book, which he hand-sold to the miners and millworkers of Wigan. Since then, his poems have become landmarks, sculpted in granite and built from concrete, recorded on era-defining albums and declaimed in over thirty countries. We are honoured to welcome Lemn Sissay to our stage for our inaugural festival, For the Culture: Celebrations of Blackness.
