Liam Clancy was born in Tipperary but made his name in the US as part of the folk revival of the 1960s, playing with The Clancy Brothers and Tommy Makem and befriending and influencing then up-and-coming stars such as Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Johnny Cash, Eric Clapton and Barbra Streisand.
