Mimi Khalvati was born in Tehran and educated on the Isle of Wight, in Switzerland and London. She has worked as an actress and a director in Tehran and more recently she co-founded the Theatre in Exile. She has been a poet in residence at the Royal Mail and is co-ordinator of the Poetry School.
