Following it's critically acclaimed premiere in 2018, this coming of age story inspired by Dizzee Rascal's seminal album, returns for a limited run and a UK tour. In a strict Mormon household somewhere in the seam between East London and Essex, a girl is given Dizzee Rascal's ground-breaking grime album Boy in da Corner by her best friend SS Vyper. Precisely 57 minutes and 21 seconds later, her life begins to change - from feeling muted by dyslexia to spitting the power of her words; from being conflicted about her sexuality to finding the freedom to explore; from feeling alone to being given the greatest gift by her closest friend. Step into a technicolour world where music, dance and spoken word collide, and discover how grime allowed Debris Stevenson to redefine herself.Author Debris Stevenson. Author Jammz (feature writer). Director Ola Ince. Design Jacob Hughes. Lighting Anna Watson. Sound Tony Gayle. Musical Director Michael Mikey J Asante. Performer MC Jammz (SS Vyper).

A fusion of poetry, grime and movement inspired by the flows Dizzee Rascal's genre defining album, Boy in da Corner, step into a pirate radio station, teenage bedroom and house party as an outsider battles with finding their voice. There will be music, lyrics, poetry, dancing (if you're that way inclined) and a story unfolding in-between the smoke, strobe and decks. What if someone fights, against the odds, against all their surrounding opinions and narratives to achieve the life they want, then realise it's not what they need? 13 years after Dizzee Rascal's debut album was released Debris remembers how it gave her permission to re-define success against the odds and become a poet - but what has she forgotten along the way?Author Debris Stevenson.
