Great Expectations
T0
Great Expectations, built from the text of American writer Kathy Acker, looks at the theme of identity in relation to the body and memory. The fantastic, almost life-like way that the puppeteers are able to move their puppets, is thrilling. In a combination of grotesque with finesse, the puppeteers throw themselves into the lives of the puppets and their possible movements - like giants playing with Lilliputians. And it wouldn't surprise if the puppets began to breathe or blink. They are
that real, even when left to themselves.
