Jack Kerouac
T0
Jack Kerouac remains an icon - the cult writer of the 1950's Beat Generation. His writing, particularly his famous masterpieces On The Road and The Dharma Burns, challenged the complacency of the American dream and embodied the struggle for personal freedom. This documentary focuses on the 63 days Kerouac spent as a fire-warden on Desolation Peak in Washington State, where he researched The Dharma Burns. It was a moment in his life that illuminated both his previous achievements and the tragedy which followed. The time he spent on that mountain was a personal and professional turning-point. When he finally descended, the road down took him to alcoholism and failure.
