A former literary editor of Gay News and a member of the English faculty at Cambridge University Alison has published widely on lesbian life and literature. The contents of her latest anthology span 2,500 years of fables, stories, letters and poems from authors ranging from Sappho to Dickens to Adrienne Rich. Encompassing humour and seriousness, this thought-provoking book explores how different generations have looked at women's identity and relationships. Alison reads extracts from the collection and talks about how the book came into being. There will also be a chance to discuss the issues raised.
