A unique opportunity to spend an evening with the uncompromising film director Ken Loach, whose distinguished career includes one of the finest and best known films ever made in Britain, Kes. Since the 1960s Loach has been consistently committed to the struggles of the underprivileged in both his films and larger political life. He is a strong supporter of the anti-war movement, and is a member of the Respect Unity Coalition. The evening will end with a special director s cut of Carla s Song (1996), a touching love story set against the brutal background of the 1987 Nicaraguan conflict.
