In an unusual and fascinating talk, Dr Jim Bennett, Keeper of the Museum of The History of Science at Oxford, examines many of the ground-breaking scientific discoveries of the Renaissance and considers the impact of these upon the Arts. Illustrated with slides from the Museum's collection, Dr Bennett will discuss astronomy, map-making, navigation and geometry - explorations that have influenced our thinking for the past 400 years.
