Ethnic East End
T0
Explore the East End of London, the bubbling lava of much of London s culture and history and character. It s both Londoners London and immigrants London. The bass line has always been Cockney. The melody has been fashioned from successive waves of immigration: French Huegenots in the 18th century, Eastern European Jews in the 19th century, the Indian sub-continent in the 20th. Trendy and gritty, mercurial and rooted, the East End is where the city keeps reinventing itself. Programmed in association with London Walks.
