From 7:84 to Eastenders

T0
Gavin Richards is best known at the moment for his role as Terry Raymond in Eastenders. However, in the 1970s and early 80s he was one of the leading figures in the radical movement of politically motivated work that swept through British theatre. An original member of [7:84 Theatre Company] and founder of the acclaimed Belt and Braces Theatre Co., Gavin's remarkable achievements included bringing his inspired, production of Dario Fo's political comedy Accidental Death of an Anarchist into London's West End. He he talks about the birth of that movement and his own work at that time; it's aims, ideals and practice. Easily provoked, Gavin insists that the only point in reminiscing about the past is to search for its relevance to the present (with script extracts, music and demonstration).
