Fifty years and a day since the opening night of its first production, this panel discussion will examine the personalities, controversies, problems and possibilities that contributed to the founding the English Stage Company. Participants will also be invited to reflect on the legacy of George Devine's original vision. Graham Whybrow will chair the discussion, with the panel including Harriet Devine and Donald Howarth.
