Intrepid explorer Pete McCarthy has only one rule of thumb; never pass a bar with your name on it. And so it came to pass that he set out to Ireland, the land of his fathers (or at least his mother's fathers), to find all the pubs and bars called 'McCarthy's' and to find out, as an Englishman, just how Irish he really is...Pete McCarthy is well known for his wanderings on television and radio programmes such as Desperately Seeking Something, Country Tracks and Travelog. Tonight he will be talking about his travels and reading from his first book about that Irish Odyssey, MacCarthy's Bar.
