Morality of the Left
T0
Does the Left lack the vocabulary with which to decry what some see as the progressive debasement of the public sphere, where sex is used to sell everything from cars to junk food? Are discussions of morality 'uncool', or is this government's enunciation of 'rights and responsibilities' the beginnings of an attempt to find a language with which to engage in such issues? Speakers are Tony Wright, Labour Member of Parliament for Cannock Chase, former Chairman of the Fabian Society. Rev Joel Edwards, General Director of the Evangelical Alliance UK, Frank Field, Labour Member of Parliament for Birkenhead; award-winning journalist and broadcaster Jonathan Freedland, and Anthony Grayling, philosopher, columnist, broadcaster and author of The Meaning of Things: Applying Philosophy to Life. In the Chair is Philip Collins, Director, Social Market Foundation
