Paul Scofield - The Biography

T0
Now eighty years old, Paul Scofield is arguably Britain's finest classical actor. His distinguished career spans more than sixty years and includes an Oscar for his portrayal of Sir Thomas More in A Man for all Seasons in 1966 and a nomination for Quiz Show in 1995. His stage work includes all the great roles and a BAFTA in 1997 for The Crucible. For this revealing portrait, the first full-length biography of Paul Scofield, Garry O'Connor has spoken both to the actor himself and to many of the people he has worked with including Simon Callow, Robert Redford and Peter Hall. The author has also written biographies of Ralph Richardson, Laurence Olivier and Peggy Ashcroft.
