Outing to Tintinhull and Hestercombe. Tintinhull is a small manor house garden designed into seven rooms by clipped yew hedges and walls. The head gardener will give a private tour before it is open to the public. A pub lunch at the Illchester Arms, a 17th Century coaching inn, will be followed by a visit to Hestercombe in Taunton. This Edwardian garden was begun in 1904, and perfectly shows off the partnership of designer Sir Edward Lutyens and gardener Gertrude Jekyll. Enjoy a guided tour of the landscape garden restored to its 18th Century glory, which was opened in 1997 for the first time in over 125 years.
