Copyright is a major issue. Not least in the case of the new and celebrated Honda ad. Quite what is its relationship to Fischli & Weiss' 1987 Der Lauf der Dinge (The Way Things Go)? Is it a question of plagiarism? Two barristers, Simon Malynicz and Ashley Roughton, will respectively speak for the prosecution and defence putting the Honda ad 'on trial', and using it as a touchstone, to discuss the complex issues of ownership, authorship, and the role of the law in matters of creative dispute.
