The language of Maeterlinck's Pelleas and Melisande has a natural affinity to music. Composers as diverse as Faure, Sibelius, Schoenburg and Debussy were all inspired to write by it. The company acts as both characters and chorus, trying out various possibilities of music, voice and text.
