Archive Milestone: 100,000 works
Thu, 11th Apr 13Started in 1995 and containing details back to the mid-1990's, the UK Theatre Web Archive (formerly the ArtsArchive) has just topped 100,000 works.
The works are recorded in around 145,000 productions at over 3,000 venues and name around 157,000 individuals, groups and organisations. A total of over 836,000 listings have been gathered over the 18 year period since we started making this arguably the largest on-line performing arts archive in the world and certainly the biggest in the UK. The works database contains over 26,900 plays and nearly 2,200 musicals, 2,200 operas and close to 7,000 dance entries.
The entire database has been entered by hand, almost exclusively by our fabulous listings team of one located in Weston-super-Mare. The entire archive is searchable on-line and via our Android App.
UKTW also provide current listings, links to ticket suppliers, live ticket availability/price searching, news and reviews with additional web development and support capabilities available to a wide range of clients both in and out of the theatre world.
