David Tennant to star in Richard II

RSC to stage Richard II with David Tennant at the Barbican later this year

Gregory Doran has announced his first season as Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company, playing from October 2013 to March 2014. David Tennant returns to the RSC to play Richard II with Oliver Ford Davies - directed by Gregory Doran. Wendy & Peter Pan will be their family show and in the Swan Theatre there will be the world premiere of Hilary Mantel's Man Booker Prize-winning novels Wolf Hall and Bring up the Bodies, adapted for the stage by Mike Poulton.

The Barbican and the RSC also announced that the new production of Shakespeare's Richard II will transer to the Barbican from Monday 9 December 2013 to Saturday 25 January 2014.
