New Musical in threatened venue

Having started life at the end of the eighteenth century in the form of an exchange of letters, Jane Austen s {Pride and Prejudice::L01239928960} finds itself two hundred years later as a musical on the threatened stage of the {Westminster Theatre::v419}. The 586 seat venue is due to be demolished as part of local redevelopment plans and replaced by an auditorium with 400 fewer seats. The new period musical, centred on the sparky Elizabeth Bennet/Mr Darcy relationship, is adapted by [June Elvin] and directed by its composer [Anthony Jason].
