Audition: China West International Productions is due to present its first professional U.K. production, in association with the Eastbourne Chinese Society for the celebration of Chinese New Year 2010.
China West International Productions was founded in 2007 by Ms. Annie Guo. Before becoming the founder and the executive producer of China West, Ms. Guo dedicated herself to working as director and producer on many high profile productions here in the U.K and in South East Asia.
Some of Ms. Guo’s most credited roles were as Sir Cameron Mackintosh’s Assistant Producer on his Chinese version of Les Miserables; as Jeff Wayne’s Associate Producer on The War of The Worlds; and the Artistic Director of the most recent U.K Tour of Kung-Fu Master.
One of Ms. Guo’s biggest achievements was being invited by China and then appointed the Executive Producer on China’s biggest and most influential musical to date, Butterflies. 600million RMB, which roughly equates to £55million, was invested into Butterflies. The outcome was magnificent and the show was recognized nationally and internationally as one of the most successful and momentous international creative collaboration China’s Musical Theatre scene has ever seen.
We are currently casting for 8 strong dancers, preferably of South East Asia origin for this up-and-coming production for Eastbourne Chinese Society. We must stress that we currently have a very limited budget for this production as it is non-commercial, and we will only be able to pay our performers’ expenses on the day of the performance. Nonetheless, we promise to do our best to keep the number of rehearsals minimal (approx. 8 sessions) and that China West will do its utmost to look after all our performers.
We are also currently applying for funding for a couple of our future productions we have in the pipeline and will also keep potential musical theatre actors on file.
Auditions will be held on Saturday 16th January, please kindly forward CV and headshot to cwip2010@yahoo.co.uk
Thank you

URGENT CASTING C ALL
Audition: URGENT – Lead actor needed for The China Vase
This is exciting new writing grappling with important issues and we're going to Edinburgh looking for recognition.
The China Vase is a topical and challenging piece of political drama exploring the personal relationships of a group of soldiers spread across three wars. It is shocking and intelligent new writing to premiere at this years Edinburgh festival.
Due to our lead actor having a fracas with legal justice, we are urgently recasting this role.
Northern: Playing age 18 – 30. Lead role. Role description: Northern is ultimately confronting the fact that he doesn’t believe in the nationalistic or political ideas that are used to justify the wars he is involved in, but is powerless as a private in the rigorous hierarchy of the army to do anything about it.
The requirements:
Actors must be free to perform at the Edinburgh festival 4th - 28th August 2006
Actors must be free for rehearsals in Nottingham from Monday 3rd July
Contact Matt on 07977 116 275 or email feetandfingers@yahoo.co.uk for further information.

Audition: Lookatme Productions is a highly successful young production company dedicated to bringing the best young talents to the stage. Concentrating on actors, writers and directors the company creates performances of dramatic, humorous plays that challenge our social perceptions and address those issues which are often difficult to discuss.
Praise for former performances includes being awarded Time Out ‘Show of the Week’ for its sell-out production of Stephen Belber’s Tape in January 2005. The company also performed Howard Korder’s Boys’ Life in November 2005.
Bruises. Beyond the windows of a South Coast boarding house lies a world of violence and pain, a world where a father is passing an inheritance of drunken cruelty onto his son.
Bruises is a 90 minute play. Set in Worthing, actors must have a convincing estuarine South Coast accent.
Owing to the violent scenes at the heart of Bruises all actors are required to have stage combat experience.

The China Vase last call
Audition: Dear Sir or Madam,
I’m casting for ‘The China Vase’, a play to be rehearsed in Nottingham from 3rd July then being performed at The Edinburgh Festival 4th – 28th August. We have successfully cast 4 of the 6 roles in the play, but are still looking for two actors to play two major roles:
Sergeant: Playing age 25 to 40. London accent. Role description: A career soldier. The Sergeant has become somewhat institutionalised during his long service in the army. He finds it hard to relate to his family back at home and has through years of fighting suppressed much of the emotion that combat gives rise to. As the play progresses he becomes wholly isolated from his ‘human’ side and embraces the army fully. Once his position in the army is challenged he faces complete collapse, and desperation, as he has nothing left to turn to, emotionally or actually. A major role.
Northern: Playing age 18 – 25. Regional accent. Role description: Ultimately confronting the fact that he doesn’t believe in the nationalistic sentiments that are used to justify the wars he is involved in, Northern is powerless as a private in the rigorous hierarchy of the army to do anything about it. His resolution of this is the denouement of the play, in which he is killed. A major role.
We also need a technician who can help design a lighting plan and/or program and run the lighting and sound during the show.
The requirements:
Actors must be free to perform at the Edinburgh festival 4th - 28th August 2006
Actors must be free for rehearsals in Nottingham from Monday 3rd July
We will be providing accommodation in Edinburgh and covering transport costs, but this is otherwise unpaid work. It is also possible that we can provide accommodation in Nottingham for the period of the rehearsals, which are part time for the first two weeks. If you know anyone who would be interested in auditioning for these roles please do get in touch by email or on the number below.
Many thanks,
Matthew Whitney
