T1853888652All proceeds from this unique evening will fund our Young Carers Days this Christmas and other work with vulnerable people in our community. With the majority of young carers taking on caring duties every day and almost half of them also getting up during the night, young carers are far more likely than their peers to miss school and suffer from social isolation and mental health pressures. Our Young Carers Days offer some welcome respite and an opportunity to have fun with other young people who share similar experiences.Performer Daniel Evans (host). Performer Amara Okereke. In aid of the Royn Brooks Fund - T651739351Performers from Smash hit musicals We Will Rock You and Tonight's the Night including; Mig Ayesa, Jodie Jacobs, Jenna Lee James, Chris Holland, Peter Johansson, Cameron Jack, Tim Funnell, Catherine Porter, Dianne Pilkington, Michael McKell, join forces on stage to support the Robyn Brooks Appeal. Robyn was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer - Neuroblastoma - when she was 3. After initial treatments failed, the NHS said she was terminally ill. Her only chance was to go to the US to try developing treatments in the hope that they would help her survive her illness, but this meant that Robyn and her family had to fund the treatment themselves, which is why the appeal was set up. Sadly, Robyn lost her battle against cancer in March of this year after 5 years of battling the disease. However, Robyn's parents have vowed to carry on raising money and awareness and the Appeal is in the process of becoming a registered charity in order for this to happen. The hope is that the gig will be the first major event after it becomes a charity and will act not only as a tribute to Robyn but also look to the future of research into this devestating form of cancer. You can learn more about the appeal at The Robyn Brooks Appeal website Website | |
