The Cherry Orchard

The Cherry OrchardT01011080665
The Cherry Orchard premiered at the Moscow Art Theatre 17 January 1904, on Chekhov's 44th birthday and only six months before his death. Overjoyed at being back at her large country house Madame Ranyevskaya is reassured to find the cherry orchard looking unchanged. But for how long? The family's wealth has gone and their only hope is to destroy the beloved orchard. The axes are ready to swing through the orchards of Russia ..
Author Anton Chekhov

User Review: 09Nov21: I'm not a fan of the minimalistic stagig, and I HATED Seagrove's playing a male role (why, why, oh why?), but the acting was world class, the play both amusing and moving. Loved it.

User Review: 08Oct21: Good acting, but way too long. The final 30 minutes was excruciating.

Alan Hobbs (08Oct21): Good acting, but way too long. The final 30 minutes was excruciating. 3
Anna Windsor (07Oct21): Amateur, cheap, dreadful, disgraceful, are words coming to mind. It felt like a highschool performance.Completely missed the spirit of Chehov and pre-revolution Russia. Chehov will turn in his grave. Complete waste of money and time. If my company was not embarrassed to leave I would have left before the interval.I would give minus 5 if Icould. 1
