Her career has taken her from West End to Broadway, theatre to film, stage to recording studio. Now she makes her BBC Proms debut, backed by the BBC Concert Orchestra, in a performance celebrating legendary singers such as Nina Simone, Shirley Bassey, Billie Holiday and Gladys Knight.
