CORONAVIRUS: All UK venues closed on 16th March 2020 but restrictions were lifted on 19th July 2021 with venues free to run shows to full capacity audiences after that though there are still issues with company members being forced to self-isolate on being 'pinged'. In September it is possible that a COVID vaccination certificate (or exemption) may be mandated for entry. Please note that iUKTDb archive listings between March 2020 and July 2021 may not be accurate as we did not receive details of all rescheduled and cancelled shows.
About the Show/Event
Information for The Mystery of Edwin Drood at Bridewell Theatre, Inner London (Musical). It is the late nineteenth century. The Music Hall Royale is presenting the premiere performance of its musical comedy drama based VERY loosely on the last novel by Charles Dickens. Unfortunately, as we discover, the book is unfinished. From the point at which Dickens puts down his pen forever, you, the audience take over. You must decide whether a crime has been committed, if so, who did it, and which of the characters will finish the play as lovers. The company must learn all 500 possible endings in order to perform whichever variety of conclusions you vote for. Subtle - and not so subtle - measures will be taken as the players try to ensure they have a stab at being villain (or hero). Ultimately though the choice is yours!
Book by Charles Dickens. Presented by SEDOS. Director Mark Siddall. Choreographer Tim Garrad (also assistant director).
