CORONAVIRUS:All UK venues closed on 16th March 2020 and look like staying closed until March 2021 with the exception of a few, patchy, openings (and subsequent closures) towards the end of 2020. Some open-air, drive-in venues have been opened for periods and many shows are now streaming on-line. Sadly, some venues and shows may not survive. We are updating our listings as much as possible to reflect the changes as they are reported.
About the Show/Event
Information for The Mozartists at Cadogan Hall, Inner London (Concert). Ian Page's visionary MOZART 250 series continues to build a widespread and highly enthusiastic following. The first of The Mozartists' concerts in 2021 is a diverse and illuminating overview of the musical year 1771, featuring an exquisite selection of works by Mozart, Myslivecek, Boccherini and Salieri. It culminates in Haydn's magnificent âTrauer' symphony, whose elegiac slow movement the composer was said to have wanted to be performed at his funeral. The mezzo-soprano soloist in arias by Myslivecek and Salieri is former BBC New Generation Artist Kitty Whately, and Ian Page conducts his outstanding period-instrument orchestra.
Performers Kitty Whately (mezzo-soprano).
Conductor Ian Page.
