In 1962, Bob was spotted by Quincy Jones at the Notre Dame Jazz Festival. He soon became an in-demand New York session pianist, and launched his solo recording career in 1974. By the late 1970s he had signed to CBS Records and began recording the first of 15 solo albums. In 1991 bob formed the super-group Fourplay with Lee Ritenour, Nathan East and Harvey Mason. Their debut album remained at the top of the Billboard Jazz chart for a record 34 weeks. The 1995 Fourplay album, 'Elixir', scooped the Jazz Album of the Year Award at the 1996 Soul Train Awards. Bob's latest album, 'Joy ride', features collaborations with Lee Ritenour, Jonathan Butler, Richard Bona and David McMurray.
