Details

Puccini's most enduring opera. The story of the love of the poor poet Rodolfo for the consumptive seamstress Mimi. Set in the Latin Quarter of Paris the course of their love is constantly threatened by Rodolfo's jealousy and Mimi's illness. The painter Marcello and the provocative Musetta are the other main characters. This is where 'your tiny hand is frozen' comes from and the last few bars, as Rodolfo realises Mimi is dead, are some of opera's most moving moments. Possibly the world's first drive-in opera. This new, modern 90 minute version of the much-loved La bohème is performed live with members of the award-winning ENO Orchestra and Chorus. Two incredible casts of principal singers alternate throughout the run, including Natalya Romaniw and Sinéad Campbell-Wallace sharing the role of Mimì, alongside David Butt-Philip and David Junghoon Kim as Rodolfo. The performers will be on a raised and covered stage, with large screens to the side also relaying the performance so that all audience members get a great view. If you don't have a car you can book an Uber Box, or come on a bicycle. website
