The McCooeys Live! archiveBelfast's most famous family are back in four classic episodes of Joseph Tomelty's hit radio series. Presented by Centre Stage Theatre Company, The McCooeys Live! features a cast of Northern Ireland's finest actors as Tomelty's much-loved family and neighbours return in all their outrageously funny normality. An unmissable cast of Northern Ireland favourites includes Dan Gordon (Give My HeadPeace's Red Hand Luke) as Granda, Carol Moore (fresh from success in Rough Girls) as Maggie, Tomelty's granddaughter Hannah Carnegie as Sally, Patrick McBrearty (The Border Game) as Bobby Greer, Christina Nelson (Pinocchio) as Aunt Sarah and Mary Moulds (Distortion) as Henrietta Toosel. Colin Carnegie is the Announcer. Heard on the BBC Northern Ireland Home Service from 1949 to 1955, The McCooeys had 500,000 listeners tuning in every Saturday night to hear the ups and downs, laughter and tears of an all-too-familiar working-class Belfast family. Now they're back, in episodes unheard since they were first broadcast and coming to the stage for the first time. And it's business as usual, with drama aplenty when the McCooeys are burgled, and laugh-out-loud comedy when Henrietta Toosel makes her first appearance, and as Granda's lost raffle ticket threatens his hopes of a holiday in Newcastle.
