When Mark finds an unconscious man lying in the sands on Scarborough beach, he does what any other person would do; he stops to help. He has no idea that in doing so he is starting a chain of events that will seemingly ruin his life. The man slowly recovers, but never speaks. Mark offers him a bed, and the strange silent man slowly involves himself in Mark's life.
