There are few comics as comfortable on stage as John Bishop. He just pulls up a bar stool, either metaphorically or physically, and starts shooting the breeze. If much of the art of stand-up is recreating the feeling of chatting in the pub with your pals, this likeable Scouser has it sussed. Clearly a deft and accomplished stand-up, Ian Stone's intelligent and finely tuned observational routine is consistently amusing, sharply written and peppered with smart topical asides. Ranked amongst the top ten stand-ups in Britain by The Independent, he is one of the most talented acts on the circuit.
