Krapp's Last Tape

Krapp's Last Tape

Work:: Krapp's Last Tape (S3872)

Krapp's Last Tape is one of the most openly autobiographical of Beckett's writings, where he once again confronts himself but without the searing, wrenching pain and exhaustion of previous works. The play, tinged with sadness and at times overwhelmingly emotional is a poignant reflection of Beckett himself. We meet Krapp, a man in his late sixties. Every year, on his birthday, Krapp records a new tape - a review of the year just gone. But on this occasion - his 69th birthday - he listens back to a tape he recorded three decades before.

CORONAVIRUS: All venues in the UK were shut down on March 16, 2020, and the restrictions were finally lifted on July 19, 2021. It is important to mention that the UK Theatre Web archive listings (iUKTDb) from March 2020 to July 2021 might not be accurate due to the lack of information regarding rescheduled and cancelled shows.
