Wordsmith's Lament

Three plays, three directors, three styles: one evening charting the progress of the writing of a play through to rehearsal and finally into performance. Cleverly interlinked this satirical comedy examines the deconstruction of theatre and theatrical practices in today's artistic environment.

User Reviews

USER: UK Theatre Web (10Mar01): A witty feast for theatrical pundits with sombre undertones and hysterical madcap antics. The first piece in the trilogy seems to miss the point and the director has made odd choices, the second and third are amazingly funny and dark in their humour. With a major reworking of the first piece I would be interested to see how this fared in a more prominent venue. Paul Henderson
