The Phantom of the Opera (Ken Hill version) archiveThe Ken Hill version is known as 'the original stage musical' and was the inspiration for Andrew Lloyd Webber's production. Set in the Paris Opera House this classic tale of romance, horror and grand opera is portrayed with the tongue firmly in the cheek! The Phantom born with a monstrously disfigured face but the voice of an angel haunts the Opera House and falls in love with Christine, a young chorus girl. He terrorises the management in order to further Christine's career, forcing her to love him in return. Raoul, Christine's true love, intends to fight for her...to the end. The magnificent score is based upon arias from the operas of Verdi, Gounod and Bizet.
