It's 1761 in Dublin, Murrough O'Docherty has a problem. His wife Nancy has returned from the coronation of George III in London and is so infatuated with London ways that she now calls herself 'Mrs Diggerty' speaks with a London accent which is all her own, and even worse she is accompanied by Count Maurice Mushroom, an English Fop, in other words she is suffering with the 'London Vertigo'. Murrough enlists the help of his brother-in-law, Tom Hamilton and the servant Katty Farrell and together they plot to cure 'Mrs Diggerty' of the London Vertigo and get rid of Count Maurice Mushroom.
