Details

The opera premiered in Bologna in 1763, and was an immediate success due to its lively musical style and impressive special effects which the advanced machinery of the then new Bologna theatre permitted. This classic opera seria staged in three acts and sung in Italian, tells the story of Lars Porsena, King of the Etruscans and the young Roman hostage Cloelia.
