Details

Prince Igor is based on a thousand year old historical story of love, betrayal and empire building, brought to life by Borodin's score. The performances offer a rare treat to see an authentic Russian production of this classic work famous for its Polovtsian Dances. The great strength of this epic story is in the distinguished quality of its music and the writing for the solo, chorus and orchestra especially for the lead characters of Yaroslavna, Prince Igor and Konchak. The premi?re of Prince Igor was at the Mariinsky Theatre St Petersburg in 1890. The UK premi?re was at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in 1914.
