Details

An opera written in 1991. The Death of Klinghoffer is based on the true story of the hijacking by terrorists of a cruise ship, the Achille Lauro, in 1985 and the subsequent murder of one of the passengers. A rich and complex work, it explores the divisions in the Middle East with an objective and even-handed approach.
